During the Month of Ramadan we wanted to do something extra special for our young brothers and sisters on the other side of the world. Something for the kids who may feel as though they have been forgotten.Rather than sponsoring an iftar dinner or hosting an event in our local community we chose to help sponsor an orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan by collaborating with a charity. The Prophet [pbuh] said “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate. [SahihBukhari]. We reached out to a local non-profit organization, ZamZam Water, whose mission is to bring clean water to those in need one well at a time.
ZamZam Water was working on an initiative to sponsor 273 children at the Imam Bukhari Orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan. This sponsorship included providing all orphans with lunches, paid their school fees, and gave them new school uniforms. We contacted ZamZam Water and told them we wanted to be involved and would help raise the necessary funds to help accomplish this noble goal. Through the month of Ramadan we were able to raise over $3,500 MashAllah. We presented the check to ZamZam Water founder, Yusuf Nessary, at their charity gala in Fremont, CA on July 26th. With the help of our sponsorship and contribution we hope the kids at the Imam Bukhari Orphanage will be able to enjoy their school year without having to worry about any associated school fees.
We hope to be long term sponsors for this orphanage and would like to thank all of our supporters, donors, and customers because without them none of our contributions would have been possible.
